Police Nab Purse Thief Caught On Video At Waukesha Restaurant
A man captured on video taking a purse from The Neighbors Bar and Grille on Aug. 27 was caught by police.

WAUKESHA, WI—A man caught on camera stealing a purse late at a Waukesha bar and restaurant was apprehended, Chris Potratz, general manager of the business, located on Arcadian Avenue, told Patch on Monday.
"They [police] called the bar yesterday and said that he was caught. The officer called during busy time so we didn't have time to get many details, but he said they got him," Potratz said.
Patch reached out to police on Monday morning.

The business owner said it was only a matter of time until he got caught.
"The power of social media is amazing. The public isn't going to stand for a thief and people need to remember they are on camera everywhere they go these days," he said.

A video showed a man wearing a backward gray hat and black shorts come into the restaurant on Aug. 27 and takes a black purse on a table near the door, Potratz said.
The man captured on video drank a pitcher of beer but paid cash, otherwise they would have found out who he was, Potratz said.
"It's irritating that somebody would do this here, although I'm very thankful for our outstanding camera system. It's clear as day and you are on camera the whole time in this bar, so the utter stupidity of this person is beyond me," Potratz said.
