Public Invited To Take Part In Waukesha’s 'Field of Honor'
Flags are available for purchase through the Colonial Flag Foundation for $50, with proceeds benefitting "The Moving Wall" exhibit.
WAUKESHA,WI— The public can honor loved ones by flying a flag at Waukesha's "Field of Honor."
According to a news release from the City of Waukesha Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department, the flags will be on display 24 hours each day beginning at noon on May 27, 2021 through 6 a.m. on June 1 in Frame Park.
Flags are available for purchase through the Colonial Flag Foundation for $50, with proceeds benefitting “The Moving Wall” exhibit in Waukesha. Anyone who wants to buy a flag can also do so by calling 1-866-375-3524. Flags must be ordered by April 30.

“Flags in the Field of Honor will serve as a powerful reminder of all our Heroes” Waukesha Mayor Shawn Reilly said in the release. “I know it will be a moving sight to see hundreds of American Flags flying proudly in Frame Park as we bring 'The Moving Wall' exhibit to Waukesha .”
The flags will be displayed atop nearly eight-foot poles, each with a dedication attached. Visitors will be able to walk the field to view the flags.

Officials laid out who the flags can be purchased to honor:
- Active Duty Military members
- Fallen Servicemen and Servicewomen
- Veterans
- First Responders
- Personal Heroes.
After the event, flags and their dedications will be available for pick up or delivery so they may continue to be flown in a place of honor or be presented to the honoree, the release said.
