Neighbors Help Fire Fighters Stop Waukesha Blaze

Authorities said the fire caused more than $30,000 in damage.

WAUKESHA, WI — Authorities in Waukesha say the quick actions of neighbors helped fire fighters contain a blaze that could have spread out of control.

According to Waukesha Fire Department officials, firefighters were sent to a home at 1346 Santa Monica Circle at 2 p.m. Friday on a report of a fire.

Authorities say fire crews found a detached garage that was fully engulfed in flames, with the flames spreading to a nearby house.

Fire officials say fire crews were able to quickly bring both fires under control, and that the quick actions of neighbors who reported the fire helped save lives and further property damage.

Authorities said the fire caused more than $30,000 in damage. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
