Short-Lived Tornado Passed Near Palmyra On Friday: NWS
Forecasters at the National Weather Service on Monday confirmed that a tornado passed near Palmyra on Friday and damaged trees.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, WI — A short-lived tornado that reached 50 yards in width brought 95 mph winds down a path east of Palmyra on Friday, but nobody was hurt, according to the National Weather Service.
The tornado came amid multiple rounds of thunderstorms that created supercells with large hail and a surging line of storms, the NWS said. The tornado happened between 10:28-10:31 p.m.
The tornado damaged trees along a narrow convergent path along Mill Road, east of Palmyra, the NWS said. It lasted for about 1.25 miles and ranked in at EF-1.

Prior to Friday's tornado, forecasters have confirmed 18 tornadoes across Wisconsin since the start of 2023. None have caused any injuries or deaths this year, and the majority of the tornados happened in May.
