'Sound of Music' Concert Honors Vera Kin

Waukesha’s Civic Band will take up a popular musical while honoring Vera Kin, who helped save the band when the council stopped funding it years ago, on Thursday at 8 p.m. in Cutler Park.

Kin died in August 2012 at age 94.

The Civic Band will be playing selections from the Sound of Music. The concert is free. The rest of the season’s schedule can be found on Patch.
