Stranger Climbs Into Home And Steals Chair, Returns It: WPD

The man returned the chair after he grabbed it through the kitchen window, police logs showed.

WAUKESHA, WI β€” A man climbed in through a resident's kitchen window and took a chair before returning it early Tuesday morning, Waukesha Police Department logs showed.

A Waukesha woman told police an older man in a colorful shirt tried to let himself in through her kitchen window at the 400 block of N. Moreland Boulevard around 12:01 a.m., police logs showed. The man pushed the screen out of the way and pulled a chair out of the kitchen.

The man said he thought the window he climbed in was to his own home, police logs showed.

It's not clear if the man was arrested or not, but he later returned the chair to the woman and her boyfriend, police logs showed. The couple yelled at him to get out.

No one was injured and there was no damage to the house, police logs showed. The woman told police she didn't wish for a complaint or charges, but she wanted to make sure the man wasn't breaking into other houses.
