String Of Thefts To Unlocked Vehicles Around Waukesha County
At least five vehicles were stolen from communities around Waukesha County in a recent string of thefts, authorities said Wednesday.

WAUKESHA, WI — At least five vehicles were stolen from areas around Waukesha County in a recent string of thefts, the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office said in a news release Wednesday.
Deputies were called out to multiple calls for entry into unlocked vehicles and nearly all of the vehicles that were stolen had keys left inside, the sheriff's office said.
Impacted areas included Delafield, Pewaukee, Sussex, Merton and Lannon and other police agencies around the area have reported similar activity, according to the news release.

Amid the thefts, deputies plan to increase patrols. The sheriff's office encouraged the community to make sure their vehicles are secured with valuables out of sight, including garage door openers.
The sheriff's office asked anyone who sees suspicious activity and anyone who may have surveillance footage that could help the ongoing investigation to contact them at 262-548-7122 or the Waukesha County Communications Center at 262-446-5070.
