Surprised Packer Ticket Holder Turned Away At Gate In Fraud Case
When a Waukesha resident bought Packer tickets on Craigslist, they didn't know someone already stole the barcode to make their own tickets.

WAUKESHA, WI — A Waukesha resident who was hoping to attend Sunday night's Green Bay Packer game versus the Seattle Seahawks was turned away at the gate - even though he had a valid ticket for the game.
The reason? Police in Waukesha say the seller posted tickets on Craigslist. A suspect copied a barcode off a photo of the ticket that was posted in the listing, and made his own phony ticket - with the real barcode.
According to internet security company Kaspersky, who specializes in data security, "When one person posts their ticket picture online, that can start a slippery chain of events where another one buys a fraudulent ticket from private sellers and the original purchaser or duplicate purchasers cannot attend the event – simply because someone else used their tickets and gotten there before them."

According to police call logs, the ticket-holder sold his tickets to the Jan. 12 Green Bay Packer game against the Seattle Seahawks by posting the tickets on Craigslist.
Police said the man posted a picture of the tickets - barcode and all - online, only to have a thief copy the barcode and use it on a counterfeit ticket.
When the person who bought the tickets walked up to the gate on game day, the surprised ticket holder learned that the tickets were no longer valid because the ticket thief already used the stolen barcode to get inside Lambeau Field.
Waukesha Police told the ticket-holder to contact the Green Bay Packers organization in order to file a complaint so local authorities could investigate the case.
