'Suspicious' Waukesha Child-Watcher Had 4 Arrest Warrants: Police
A concerned citizen called police, saying a man watching a 9-year-old girl at Bethesda Park "felt suspicious," according to police.

WAUKESHA, WI — A 42-year-old Waukesha man has been arrested Monday and charged after authorities said a concerned citizen called police after noticing him observing a child in Bethesda Park and felt it was suspicious. Police later learned the man had multiple warrants out for his arrest.
According to Waukesha police call logs, officers were sent to the area of Bethesda Park on Dunbar Ave. just before 4 p.m. Monday on a report of a suspicious person.
Police said an eyewitness called authorities, saying a man, later identified as Jeffrey J. King, had been "hanging out" around the park, and appeared to be watching a 9-year-old girl on the swings. The caller told police they felt it was suspicious, police said.

When police arrived, officers reported that King initially lied to them about his identity. Police later learned that King had multiple warrants out for his arrest.
According to court records, King was charged with resisting arrest and bail jumping related to the Monday incident.

King had been charged in October for possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia; for bail jumping in December and for possession of drug paraphernalia last June, court records showed.
