Thursday Night Norwood Ct. Fire Causes $75,000 In Damage

Firefighters reported encountering heavy fire on the outside rear of a single-family home that was rapidly spreading into the attic.

WAUKESHA, WI β€” Authorities in Waukesha are reminding the public to use the proper extension cord for any electronic devices after a house fire Thursday caused $75,000 in damage to a Waukesha home.

According to the Waukesha Fire Department, firefighters and Waukesha Police were called to a home on the 600 block of Norwood for a report of a house on fire.

When they arrived, they reported encountering heavy fire on the outside rear of a single-family home that was rapidly spreading into the attic.

Authorities said the the outside fire was quickly brought under control. Once it was under control, crews moved inside to extinguish the attic.

One person was transported to the hospital for medical reasons unrelated to the fire, authorities said.

Damage is estimated more than $75,000. The cause is still under investigation but does not appear suspicious in nature.
