A routine audit at the school in 2019 revealed invoices of three suspicious businesses, the complaint said. One of the business was registered to Kevin Heaney and another one was registered to Bryan Heaney, the complaint said. The third business was registered to another Heaney relative, the complaint said.
The complaint said the school paid more than $429,000 to one of the accounts starting in 2014, with those invoices going to Kevin Heaney. Those charges included monthly network infrastructure maintenance and proactive malware defense solutions, the complaint said.
The school already was paying Microsoft, Wiscnet and Network Solutions for those services, the complaint said.
The school was notified police after an internal investigation. Both men were terminated by Catholic Memorial in September 2019.
