Unite With A Blue Light: How To Get Them In Waukesha

Some 10,000 blue light bulbs are on their way to Waukesha.

WAUKESHA, WI — Free blue light bulbs will be available again starting at Noon on Friday. Waukesha natives Joe and Megan Schobert donated 10,000 additional blue light bulbs.

The list of distribution sites include:

  • Burlap and Lace Marketplace, 272 W. Main Street
  • Martha Merrell Books and Toys, 231 W. Main Street
  • Village Collective, 808 N. Grand Ave.
  • Almont Gallery, 342 W. Main Street
  • Paws for a Moment Pet Spa and Boutique, 316 South Street
  • River’s End Gallery, 380 W. Main Street
  • Civic Theater, 264 W. Main Street
  • Antiques & Uniques on Main, 250 W. Main Street
  • Dave’s Restaurant, 316 W. Broadway
  • Raised Grain Brewing Company, 1725 Dolphin Drive, Ste. B
  • Guitar For Life Café, 277 W. Main Street
  • Vinyl Vault, 275 W. Main Street
  • Polished Patina, 116 W. Broadway
  • Art and Framing 1-2-3, 311 W. Main Street
  • City Hall, 201 Delafield St.
  • Schuetze Building, 1120 Baxter St.

As supplies are limited, everyone is asked to take only one blue light bulb per home.

"As a symbol of unity please light a blue light outside of your home or business and keep the blue lights on through the holidays," the city posted on Facebook.

The city of Waukesha held a moment of silence on Sunday to mark the time a person drove an SUV through the Waukesha Christmas parade, killing six people and injuring more than 60 others.

The city asked people to display blue lights to show support and unity.

"We are thankful for our community, for your support of our first responders, and for your love for your fellow neighbor. Let's continue to come together in unity," the city said in a Facebook statement.

To be notified when the blue light bulbs are in, people are asked to fill out a form online.
