Veterans Asked To Participate In Waukesha's 2023 Memorial Day Parade
Ahead of Waukesha's plans to honor fallen service members this Memorial Day, veterans are being asked to participate in a parade of unity.
WAUKESHA, WI — As we get closer to Waukesha's 2023 Memorial Day events, city organizers and the Waukesha Allied Veterans Council are looking for veterans to take part in a parade honoring our fallen service members.
All veterans without a dishonorable discharge who served in the active military, naval or air service are invited to march together as an act of unity in the May 29 parade, according to a news release from the city.
Several other events are scheduled for Waukesha's 2023 memorial day. A service at Barstow Plaza is planned for the morning where participants can cast a flower into the river as a tribute to the fallen. After the parade, another service is planned at Cutler Park with speakers including Mayor Shawn Reilly, according to the city's website.
