Waukesha BluesFest 2013 Begins This Weekend
Controversial Meijer development heads to a public hearing this week.

Get ready for some music this week! Blues lovers will want to check out the Waukesha BluesFest, on Friday and Saturday at Naga-Waukee Park in Hartland.
Meanwhile, the Waukesha Common Council will take up two controversial issues this week. The Common Council meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at City Hall, 201 Delafield St.
The Waukesha Common Council will be asked to hire an attorney to start the removal process of Dan Owens from the city’s Police and Fire Commission. Owens is accused of stealing scrap metal from the city as an employee of the Department of Public Works.

Meijer opponents are like to be out in force at the Common Council meeting. The council has scheduled a public hearing for the rezoning of the southeast corner of Roberta and Tenny avenues for a possible Meijer store.
