Waukesha To Celebrate 100th Art Crawl

Waukesha's Art Crawl has grown to include 12 galleries and studios in the Waukesha area with more than 175 participating artists.

WAUKESHA, WI — The first Waukesha Art Crawl of 2018 is coming up in the first weekend in March, and marks the 20th year of the public art celebration.

According to city officials, the Art Crawl has grown to include 12 galleries and studios in the Waukesha area with more than 175 participating artists.

Orgnaizers say that 20 years ago, Jeff Seymour had a vision to help revive downtown Waukesha by creating a community of artists, studios and galleries. The Waukesha West End Artists was formed and the idea to hold Art Crawls five times per year was used as a way to get word out about the arts community. Early on, Lynn Gaffey, artist and owner of Almont Gallery, joined Jeff and worked with him to help see this vision become a reality.
