Waukesha County Sees 10-Day Surge In COVID-19 Cases
According to county records, 225 of all cases, or about 18 percent, have come in the last 10 days.
WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — Waukesha County health officials say they've reported four of the five highest daily COVID-19 new case counts over the last ten days.
According to Waukesha County Health Department officials, 30 new cases were reported Wednesday, 42 on Tuesday, 36 on June 26 and 33 on June 23.
Those figures more than double the previous week's totals, which fell to a low of five new cases on June 22.

Waukesha County health officials say more than 78 percent of all COVID-19 cases, 967 in total as of Wednesday, have ended in recovery.
According to county records, 225 of all cases, or about 18 percent, have come in the last 10 days. The first case in Waukesha County was confirmed on March 8. The county's highest 24-hour total was on May 27, when the county recorded 52 new cases.

County data shows there are 221 active COVID-19 cases in the county, and 39 people have died from the virus, as of Thursday.
Authorities said of all cases in the county, 15 percent of them have required hospitalization.
