Waukesha County Sheriff's Department Recovers 1,300 Cloned Walmart Gift Cards
Authorities were tipped off when a local business owner reported a bag he found partially frozen to the ground containing the cards.

WAUKESHA COUNTY - Authorities announced Monday that they are investigating a case in which 1,300 Walmart gift cards containing stolen credit card information were recovered.
The investigation began in February when a local business owner contacted local law enforcement after finding a suspicious snow-covered package partially frozen to the ground containing the cards.
The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department said officers scanned 777 of the cards into the ERAD-FCIS system and found that all of the magnetic stripes on the cards contained stolen credit card information, though none of the gift cards had been activated. They were unable to determine where the gift cards were obtained since they were inactive.
