Waukesha County Sheriff's Office Warns Of Scam
Someone claiming to be from the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office is calling citizens advising them that outstanding warrants.
WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI—Waukesha County Sheriff's Office is warning residents of a scam, according to a news release.
They received information that someone claiming to be a representative from the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office is calling citizens in Waukesha County advising them that they have outstanding warrants. The individual then requests payment via pre-paid money cards, they leave a call back number to receive the card number and access code.
"The Waukesha County Sheriff's Office would NOT contact citizens via telephone to advises them that they have outstanding warrants or to collect money. Also, the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office will not request collection of payment via pre-paid money cards," the release said.

If anyone receives this type of phone call, authorities encourage you to ignore the request, hang up, and contact the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office at 262-548-7122.
