WAUKESHA, WI — A Waukesha resident was home Friday evening when people broke in and started rummaging through their stuff, according to police.
The resident called police around 9:19 p.m. from the 1900 block of Tallgrass Circle after they heard the people downstairs, according to a news release from police. When police arrived, they saw a vehicle leaving and several people running away through neighborhood backyards, the news release said.
Police said they established a perimeter in the area and used a dog for an exhaustive search. Police later determined the suspects forced entry to the home through a window, and officers later recovered a vehicle, police said.
