Waukesha Man Steals Doctor's SUV After Office Visit, Police Say

Well-meaning citizens drove Mohamad Daniel A. Alrubaiy, 31, of Waukesha, to Shorewood after he told them he needed to get a prescription for his diabetes, according to a criminal complaint.

A Waukesha man stole his doctor’s vehicle after being prescribed pain medication on Tuesday, according to a criminal complaint.

Mohamad Daniel A. Alrubaiy, 31, was charged Thursday with operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent and bail jumping. If convicted, he faces up to three years and nine months in prison and $20,000 in fines.

A doctor at a medical clinic at 1859 E. Moreland Blvd. on Tuesday reported his vehicle went missing after he had written a prescription for Alrubaiy. Alrubaiy stole the keys for the doctor’s 2009 Toyota Venza from the doctor’s jacket pocket, according to the complaint.

Several witnesses reported to police that a man was slumped over in an SUV in traffic. When police arrived at the location, the vehicle was gone. Alrubaiy was eventually arrested in Shorewood after  well-meaning citizens drove him in the vehicle to pick up a prescription for what Alrubaiy said was for his diabetes, the complaint states.

On the way to Shorewood, one of the Good Samaritans said, Alrubaiy crushed and snorted a pill, offering it to the Good Samaritans.

Alrubaiy was taken to the hospital for medical clearance before being taken to the Waukesha County Jail. Police located four Fentanyl patches on Alrubaiy when he was arrested.
