Waukesha Parade Judge Considers State Supreme Court Bid: Report

Reports say the judge who presided over the Waukesha parade trial has seen some Republican support to run for the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

WAUKESHA, WI — After presiding over a turbulent homicide trial in the wake of the Waukesha 2021 Christmas parade, Judge Jennifer Dorow has drawn support from some Republicans to run for the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 2023, according to a report by the Associated Press.

Though Dorow has not publicly announced a bid, GOP strategist Mark Graul said she would be "a very strong candidate," adding that he has spoken to her about a potential run, according to the AP report.

Dorow was first appointed to her position as Waukesha judge by former Republican Gov. Scott Walker and sworn in by 2012. The next statewide election with a supreme court seat on the ballot is set for April 4, with a primary on Feb. 21.
