Waukesha Students Named Merit Scholarship Winners In June

High school seniors in Waukesha won scholarships for four years of undergraduate study after writing essays about their achievements.

WAUKESHA, WI β€” High school students across Wisconsin, including in Waukesha, won scholarship money in June, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced on Wednesday.

Students will receive $500 to $2,000 for four years during their undergraduate study, the program said in a statement. Winners had to submit applications and write essays about their leadership positions and achievement outside of school.

Here are the students that won scholarships in the Waukesha area.

  • Carter Dunst, Waukesha North High School, who may pursue a career in computer science
  • Aidan Jacobsen, Arrowhead High School, who may pursue a career in computer engineering
  • Olivia Lee, Arrowhead High School, who hasn't decided on a career to pursue yet
  • Micah Lundberg, Arrowhead High School, who may pursue a career in finance
  • Tyler Fischer, Muskego High School, who may pursue a career in law
  • Kayleigh Kopidlansky, High School of Health Sciences, who may pursue a career an actuarial science

Another round of scholars will be announced in July, the program said. By then, 4,000 high school students will receive the Merit Scholarship.
