Waukesha Teen Brings Pet Snake To Elementary School Playground

The teen told police he wanted to show the kids that snakes are not scary.

WAUKESHA, WI—A teenager wanted to show children that snakes are not to be feared. Waukesha Police were called for a report of a teen with a snake by the basketball hoops at Prairie Elementary School on Tuesday evening. The police log said a white male in his teens wearing a grey shirt and sweatpants was carrying around a pet snake, the police log said.

Several parents nearby expressed concern about the snake.

The kids at the playground said it was a person who lived in the area. Police made contact with the teen who stated "he wanted to show the kids that snakes are not scary," the log said.

He was advised not to bring it to school again.
