Woman Called Police Over KFC Chicken Sandwich: Report

WAUKESHA, WI — A woman in Waukesha took her customer complaint to new heights over the weekend after she called police over a chicken sandwich.

According to Waukesha police call logs, officers were called to the Waukesha KFC restaurant at just after 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 after an upset woman called police, saying the restaurant's drive-through worker was "giving her attitude."

Call logs stated that the woman went thorugh the drive through that night, only to find out that her chicken sandwich had been made incorrectly. The staff tried making her another sandwich, but she refused to consider eating it, telling police that she "did not feel comfortable eating it, and wanted her money back."

She called police from the drive through, call logs state.

Police said they spoke with both the restaurant staff and the unhappy woman, explaining to them that it was not a police matter, but more of a civil issue.

It's not the first time something strange happened at this Waukesha KFC.

In November, police were called to the KFC in Waukesha after the restaurant's chicken fryer broke, resulting in an upset customer.

According to police call logs, a Waukesha police officer responded to the KFC restaurant at 331 W. Sunset Drive at just before 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 20 over an issue with a customer.

Police said police were called because a customer had been waiting for more than 40 minutes for food, and an argument ensued between the customer and the employees over his lengthy wait.

Police told Patch that the customer did not speak English well, and became embroiled in an argument with staff.

According to police call logs, KFC staff tried to explain that the restaurant's chicken fryer had broken when the customer tried ordering his food, which was the reason for the long wait. The explanation did not prove to be successful, leading to an argument.

Police said a fellow customer tried to buy chicken for him, but was similarly rebuffed when it was reiterated that the restaurant's chicken fryer was inoperable.

According to police, the customer was refunded his money and left the restaurant. The person who tried buying chicken for him was not welcome back to the restaurant over a confrontation with staff related to the issue, police reported.
