17-Year-Old Arrested After Police Chase, Crash: Wauwatosa Police
Wauwatosa police arrested a teen and three other youths accused of leading police in a chase.
WAUWATOSA, WI — Wauwatosa police arrested a group of youths and a 17-year-old accused of driving off when officers tried to stop their car.
The Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office has charged Marquis Davis-Joiner, 17, Monday with fleeing an officer and driving a car without consent of the owner. Both charges are felonies.
Davis-Joiner's preliminary hearing will be held over Zoom at 8:30 a.m. Friday. Though he is 17, he can be charged and punished as an adult, according to Wisconsin state law.

The Wauwatosa Police Department arrested Davis-Joiner and two other youths on July 17, according to police records.
Officers were investigating a car with its window smashed out when they saw a Hyundai driving through an alley with no lights on around 2:30 a.m. in the 8900 block of Stickney Avenue, Wauwatosa Police Sgt. Abby Pavlik told Patch.

Police tried to stop the car, but it kept going, Pavlik said. The police ran the car's plates and found it was reported stolen by the City of Milwaukee, she added.
Wauwatosa police chased the car, which crashed at the intersection of West North Avenue and North 65th Street, Pavlik said. Three people got out of the car and fled on foot, she added.
