• First responders in Milwaukee, Madison see success in first year of whole blood transfusion initiative (wpr.org) — Wauwatosa firefighters are now among seven Milwaukee County departments carrying whole blood on emergency calls, giving trauma patients life-saving transfusions before they reach the hospital. In its first year, the countywide program has already helped dozens of people, from crash and gunshot victims to a mother with postpartum hemorrhage, putting local responders on the leading edge of pre-hospital care.
   

• Late flurry lifts Crusaders past Chargers at WLC (gmtoday.com) — A boys basketball showdown at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Wauwatosa saw Catholic Memorial pull away late from Kettle Moraine Lutheran with a decisive 14-3 run. Freshman standout Carti Calvert led the Crusaders with 18 points as the team continues adapting after a key injury, giving local fans a look at rising talent on a familiar Wauwatosa court.
