WAUWATOSA, WI— Two additional arrests have been made in connection with the shooting at Mayfair Mall on Friday.

Wauwatosa Police released new information on Monday regarding the shooting that left eight people injured. A 15-year-old teen was arrested in connection with the shooting Friday at Mayfair Mall.

The Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office told Patch no charges were filed as of Monday evening.

The teen was arrested after a traffic stop was conducted in the City of Milwaukee. The "suspected weapon" was recovered in car and is currently being processed, according to Sgt. Abby Pavlik, Public Information Officer, Wauwatosa Police Department.

Pavlik said three total arrests were made in connection to the shooting: the suspected shooter, another individual believed to be involved in the incident, and a passenger in the car at the time of suspected shooter’s arrest. It is unknown if the incident was "gang-related", Pavlik said.

Investigators are working with the DA’s Office regarding charging for all people arrested. At this time, police are not releasing names of the people injured in the shooting.

The shooting, which was not random, was caused by an altercation between two groups, Wauwatosa Police Chief Barry Weber said.

The shooting injured eight people, including seven adults and one teenager. Weber indicated four of the people were innocent bystanders.

Pavlik said there will be additional police presence at Mayfair Mall in the upcoming weeks "for both an added sense of security as well as routine patrols for an increase in holiday shoppers."

Police responded to the mall around 2:50 p.m. Friday after receiving multiple 911 calls about a shooting near the northwestern entrance. Officers were on scene, providing medical aid to victims within 30 seconds of notification, Weber said.

Unaware that the shooter had left the mall, a perimeter was established and tactical teams formed to begin clearing the mall of patrons sheltering in place as well as searching for the suspect. The process to completely secure the mall, which contains 1.265 million square feet, took six hours and involved seven tactical teams, according to a police news release.

Live footage from the scene showed a heavy police presence and multiple people being taken out on stretchers.

Wauwatosa Mayor Dennis McBride released a statement Saturday, thanking first responders and community residents for their "strength and determination."

"Events like this shake us, but a community as strong as Wauwatosa is will not lose its spirit because of this unfortunate incident and Mayfair will continue to be a magnet for shoppers across the region," McBride said. "We have survived past challenges and we will survive this one."
