4 Cars Reported Stolen + 38 Tools Taken: Wauwatosa Police
Thieves broke into several cars and took a catalytic converter across seven days. Here are the police logs from March 18 to Thursday.
WAUWATOSA, WI — Thieves stole four cars, took 38 tools from a Wauwatosa man's work van and broke into several cars in the latest round of Wauwatosa Police Department logs.

Four Cars Stolen, One Rental

A woman reported her Hyundai Elantra stolen from the Whole Foods at 11100 W. Burleigh St. on March 19, police logs showed. She told police she was at work while it happened, and the car wasn't found.
In a separate incident, someone stole a Kia Soul from the 9000 block of W. North Avenue on March 19, police logs showed. The thieves weren't identified, but police said they believed the people who took the car were connected to a separate incident.

An unknown group of people stole a Kia Forte from in front of Dave and Buster's on Mayfair Road Tuesday, police said. The rear driver window of the car was busted, and the car was taken without keys.
So far, five Kia cars have been stolen in March, police data showed.
A car rental service on N. Mayfair Road also reported a Toyota Highlander stolen when a customer didn't give the car back on Thursday, police said.
38 Tools, Gun Stolen During Car Break-Ins
A Wauwatosa man reported that 38 tools were taken from his work van parked outside of his home near N. 75th Street and W. Center Street on March 19, police logs showed. The cost of the tools was around $5,775.
A different Wauwatosa man reported that someone had stolen a gold wedding ring, a wallet and a pistol from inside his pickup truck on the 2300 block of N. 62nd Street on Wednesday, police said. The man told police around $1,300 worth of items were taken.
Someone stole a catalytic converter from an SUV parked on the 2500 block of N. 124th street on March 18, police logs showed. Catalytic converters are often stolen for precious metals inside, and the one stolen was worth around $1,500.
Someone broke into a car and stole around $1,300 worth of items outside of 10700 W. Research Drive, police said. The theft happened in broad daylight, between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
