Argument with Teens Turns into Battery, Carjacking

Confrontation in parking lot goes beyond words and ends in theft of car.

A Wauwatosa man was beaten and had his car stolen Saturday after he got into an argument with a group of teenage girls and one young woman in the parking lot of Blue Mound Gardens, 11703 W. Blue Mound Rd.

According to the police report: The man's mother had met him and his son at the restaurant for dinner, and they were getting into their cars to leave when the teens came through the parking lot shouting and swearing.

One of the girls made a rude remark to the man, who answered loudly that he did not want to hear them swearing in front of his son and mother.

His son heard someone getting into the car, so he jumped out and ran into the restaurant.

The car was taken by one of the girls, who drove it only a few blocks and parked it behind a building, then walked back toward the restaurant.
