Burglaries, Car Alarms And Counterfeit $100: Wauwatosa Crime Logs
Here are the Wauwatosa police logs from July 30 to Aug. 5

WAUWATOSA, WI — The Wauwatosa Police Department responded to around 80 calls from July 30 to Aug. 5. These are some of the incidents reported over the week:
- Someone attempted to burglarize a business in the 8900 block of North Avenue by smashing the front window with a large rock, police said.
- A burglar forced their way into a business in the 8100 block of North Avenue and stole a "moderate" amount of money, police said.
- A Wauwatosa woman reported that someone had stolen her car while she was in a nail salon on the 3100 block of North Mayfair Road, police said. She had heard her car alarm sound and turned it off with her key fob, police said.
- A Wauwatosa man reported that someone had given a counterfeit $100 bill during the offering at a church in the 2600 block of North 68th Street, police said.
- A Wauwatosa woman reported that someone had cut off all of her deck lights, police said. The lights were on a string, and each light bulb was cut off, police said.
- Six cars were stolen during the week, police said.
- Fourteen cars were broken into during the week, police said.
- Two people reported that fraudulent purchases were made with their information, police said.
- Four people reported that the catalytic converters in their cars were stolen, police said. Two other people reported catalytic converter theft attempts, police said.
