Car Theft, Battery and A Stolen iPhone: Wauwatosa Crime Logs
Here are the Wauwatosa police logs from July 9-15.
WAUWATOSA, WI — The Wauwatosa Police Department responded to almost 70 calls from July 9-15. These are some of the incidents reported over the week:
- A Wauwatosa man reported his Toyota Prius stolen at the 6500 block of Wright Street.
- A Wauwatosa man reported that his Kia Optima was stolen without the keys from the Mayfair Mall parking lot.
- Police took a juvenile into custody after finding a group kids throwing eggs at peoples' homes at the 2000 block of N. 67th Street. When police found the group of kids, one of them threw an egg at a squad car and ran afterward. They were taken into custody a few blocks away.
- Police reported that a Kia Optima was stolen without the keys in a separate incident at Mayfair Mall.
- A Wauwatosa woman reported that her iPhone was stolen in the parking lot outside the Barnes & Noble at Mayfair Mall through Facebook Marketplace, police said. When she met the other person they pushed her and took the phone from her hands, police said.
- Someone tried to spend $10,000 with bank cards stolen from a Wauwatosa woman on the 11000 block of W. Burleigh Street, police said.
- Police reported that a group of people tried to steal a Kia Forte parted outside of the Macy's parking lot at Mayfair Mall. The suspects were riding in a stolen Kia Soul, which was later recovered on the 12000 block of W. North Avenue, police said.
- A Wauwatosa woman reported that her Kia Sportage was taken from a parking lot in the 12000 block of W. North Avenue.
- Police pulled someone over while driving a Hyundai Elantra with a broken front driver window. After calling the registered owner, police found that the car had been stolen.
- Police reported that a Kia Soul had been taken from a resident's driveway on the 6700 block of W. Wright St.
- Police reported that a couple were victims of fraud after someone posing as Social Security asked for their debit card information. Thieves took $500 through a gift card the couple purchased.
- Police reported that two people battered another person and stole their GMC Terrain in an alleyway in the 7400 block of W. Center Street.
