Chicago Carjackers Who Robbed Wauwatosa Pharmacy Sentenced
Antonio Jamerson, 21, of Indianapolis, and Elix Powell, 19, of Chicago, had been charged in federal court.

WAUWATOSA, WI — Two men accused of stealing a car on the south side of Chicago, only to drive north to stage an armed robbery at the Wauwatosa Swan Pharmacy in 2016 have been sentenced in federal court.
According to the U.S. District Attorney's office, Antonio Jamerson, 21, of Indianapolis, and Elix Powell, 19, of Chicago, had been charged with one count of interference with commerce by robbery pursuant to the Hobbs Act, and one count of brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.
Federal officials said Powell and Jamerson entered the Swan Pharmacy on Dec. 28, 2016 armed with a firearm in their robbery attempt. During the robbery, police said Powell and Jamerson demanded an unspecified amount of cash and prescription medications.

Police said the duo fled the immediate area in a black Lexus SUV with Illinois plates, which was stolen in an Armed Carjacking in the City of Chicago during the early morning hours of Dec. 28, 2016. This vehicle was recovered, and later found abandoned in the 2600 block of N. 91 st St. shortly after the robbery.
Federal officials said Jamerson was sentenced to 124 months of imprisonment, and Powell was sentenced to 120 months imprisonment in connection with the crime.

“The fact that they stole a vehicle down in the south side of Chicago, then several hours later were up here to commit this robbery, seems like there was some sort of plan,” said Wauwatosa Police Lieutenant Brian Zalewski at the time.
