COVID-19 Testing Site Shut Down Due To Traffic Concerns

WAUKESHA, WI—A pop-up COVID-19 testing site was closed down due to being a traffic hazard.

Traffic was backed up five blocks, police said to Patch.

"We had received numerous complaints about the traffic congestion due to the location of the testing trailer. On Tuesday we went to check on the status and there were significant traffic and pedestrian concerns, bus route concerns, and traffic was backed up five blocks," police said.

The City’s Health Department is working to find an alternate location that can properly and safely handle the influx of traffic.

Patch reached out to the pharmacy on Thursday.

The site, operated by Grand Avenue Pharmacy, is located at 68th Street and North Avenue. The website for the pharmacy lists the location as temporarily closed.

The other open location is W229 N1400 Westwood Dr. in Waukesha.
