East High Track Star to Sign with Marquette University

Max Kilpin has been a standout high-jumper as well as varsity volleyball player for the Red Raiders.

senior Max Kilpin will sign his national letter of intent to participate in track at Marquette University.

Max is a two-time state qualifier in the high jump, placing eighth in state in 2010, his sophomore year, and qualifying again his junior year, 2011.

He was a WIAA sectional high jump champion in 2010. In 2011, Kilpin tied the Wauwatosa East School record with a jump of 6-feet, 8-inches in addition to winning the Greater Metro Conference indoor, Greater Metro Conference outdoor and the WIAA regional.

Max was also an outstanding volleyball player at East. He played three years of varsity volleyball, qualifying for state all three years. Head Track Coach Jake Wolter referred to Max as one of the hardest working, most coachable athletes he has ever worked with, clearly a very deserving recruit.

The signing will take place at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Learning Center at East High. Coaches, players, family and media are invited to attend.
