Tosans Line Up for a $1 Bargain Lunch at Sub Shop

At 12:30 p.m. Thursday, the height of the lunch hour, a line of customers stretched well outside for a $1 sub special at , 10919 Blue Mound Rd.

The manager on duty said she wasn't sure how many subs had been sold so far, but the staff had prepped for 1,800 sandwiches to be built by the end of the special offer at 3 p.m.

The shop had 32 workers on the shift, she said, about 10 more than on a normal weekday lunch hour.

Jimmy John's didn't mention it in its local advertising, but surely the company had to know – Thursday is National Sandwich Day. Wauwatosans took full advantage.
