More Wauwatosa Residents Vaccinated: Wisconsin Vaccination Rates

WAUWATOSA, WI — The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) released maps with more detail about the local rates of vaccination against COVID-19 last week.

The new data draws from the Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR) to establish geographic data about local vaccine rates, a news release from the DHS said. No personal information is released with the new maps, the DHS news release said.

"Breaking down existing vaccination data by these additional geographies offers new ways for people to understand COVID-19 activity within their communities and will allow us to determine where we need to focus our ongoing vaccination outreach efforts," DHS Secretary-designee Karen Timberlake said.

50.8 percent of Wisconsin residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to DHS data from July 12. The total amount of vaccine distribution has been trending downwards, though. 48 percent of people in Wisconsin are fully vaccinated, the data shows.
DHS data shows that vaccination rates across Wisconsin have dropped from a peak of 428,303 per week in April, to only 55,263 vaccinations in the final week of June.

Wauwatosa - Population 47,971

• 65.5 percent, or 31,414 people, have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
• 62.3 percent, or 29,888 people, completed vaccination against COVID-19.

Brookfield - Population 38,358

• 67.6 percent, or 25,933 people, have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
• 64.60 percent, or 24,797 people, completed vaccination against COVID-19.

New Berlin - Population 39,718

• 59.8 percent, or 23,761 people, have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
• 57.5 percent, or 22,835 people, completed vaccination against COVID-19.

Milwaukee - Population 594,548

• 41.2 percent, or 244,884 people, have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
• 37.9 percent, or 225,244 people, completed vaccination against COVID-19.
