Man Arrested After Attempted Robbery At Wauwatosa Walgreens

WAUWATOSA, WI — Police arrested a man who attempted to rob prescription medication from a pharmacy in Wauwatosa on Tuesday morning, according to police.

The Walgreens at 2656 Wauwatosa Avenue reported the robbery around 11:15 a.m., police said in a Facebook post. The man had passed a note over to the pharmacy demanding prescription medications, police said. The suspect was still at the store when police arrived and officers arrested him after a brief struggle, police said.

Officers found a loaded handgun after they took the man into custody, police said.

Police said they plan on referring charges of robbery, criminal damage to property, resisting an officer causing injury and carrying a concealed weapon to the Milwaukee District Attorney's Office.

The man is a suspect in another local robbery, according to police.
