Man Who Was Beat Up For Robbing Wauwatosa Speedway Is Charged
Authorities say Kevin Sullivan robbed the Wauwatosa Speedway to get cigarettes and money for Percocet. His plan did not work, police said.

WAUWATOSA, WI — The man who robbed a Speedway gas station in Wauwatosa, only to be run down and beaten up by the clerk's older brother, has been charged in court.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County, police were called to the Speedway gas station at 6804 W. North Ave. at just after 4 p.m. on Dec. 21 on a report that the gas station had just been robbed.
Police said they caught up with the suspect, later identified as Kevin Sullivan. When they did, they saw that Sullivan was being held by Calmonta Harris. Harris was the older brother of the clerk that was just held up by Sullivan, police said.

According to the criminal complaint, a cashier at Speedway told officers that Sullivan came into the store and asked for two cartons of Newport cigarettes. He used two different credit cards, but they were both declined, she told investigators.
The criminal complaint stated that Sullivan implied having a gun by pointing an edged weapon through his jacket. gun. The cashier told police that Sullivan demanded that she hand over the cigarettes and money.

According to the criminal complaint, the clerk, with the help of a second employee, took the money out of each register which was worth about $500 and the cartons of cigarettes worth
about $86.80 each.
Authorities say Sullivan took the money and cigarettes and ran out of the store.
As Sullivan ran out of the store, the clerk's older brother, Calmonta Harris was outside pumping gas. According to the criminal complaint, Harris' sister ran outside to tell him what happened.
When you view video surveillance footage, the footage shows Harris' vehicle run down the suspect. Harris gets out of his car and is shown striking the suspect until he falls to the ground.
Wauwatosa police say they arrested both the robbery suspect and Harris.
According to a WAOW 9 report, Harris wouldn't hesitate to do it again. "I wasn't trying to intentionally beat the man up, but if he came out, he robbed the gas station with my little sister, so I don't know what else I can, it's all about my little sister," Harris said in the news report.
When police questioned Sullivan, he admitted he had gone to the gas station beforehand to see the layout of the interior of the store and that on this occasion he went into the
Speedway and told the cashier to give him the money and a carton of cigarettes, the criminal complaint stated.
Investigators also said Sullivan wanted to use the money from Speedway to buy Percocet, and then sell the cigarettes. No firearm was recovered, police said.
