The meeting comes after municipalities nationwide have begun taking a closer look at police policies following George Floyd's death.

WAUWATOSA, WI—The common council announced they have called a special meeting for Wednesday, June 10 at 7 p.m. to discuss the oversight of its police department.

Floyd lost his life in Minneapolis on May 25 while in police custody. Four officers have since been charged in connection with Floyd's death.
Some members of the Wauwatosa community are calling for council to implement the "8 Can't Wait" police reform policies espoused by Campaign Zero, a database that tracks major cities' use of eight policies that are proven to curtail police violence.
