WAUWATOSA,WI—A mysterious 8-foot monolith was discovered in the Milwaukee County Grounds Park over the holiday weekend.

The sighting was first reported by Milwaukee Magazine's Chris Drosner on Sunday.

The unexplained object is not the first to be found in recent weeks. Monoliths have been popping up all around the world since the Utah Department of Public Safety and Division of Wildlife Resources discovered one in a canyon on Nov. 18. It disappeared 10 days later.

Eight days later, a monolith was found in Romania near Piatra Neamt, disappearing on Dec. 1, and earlier this month, a third monolith was discovered in Atascadero, California.

All four monoliths that have turned up since mid-November are of similar sizes and structures.

Be wary extraterrestrial enthusiasts— the object appears to be wood with some foil covering it.

"So one of those monoliths showed up in Tosa. This one is wood with some type of foil covering, but fun to see nonetheless. Too bad we didn't see any aliens," a Wauwatosa resident said.
