No Injuries In Wauwatosa Building Fire

The Wauwatosa Fire Department was dispatched to a mixed-use building fire on Monday.

WAUWATOSA, WI—A fire was reported on Monday in the 7400 block of Harwood Avenue. The Wauwatosa Fire Department found heavy smoke from a two-story mixed-use building, the fire department said.

Fire crews were able to contain the fire to the first floor and extinguish it within 30 minutes. Fire and water damage were throughout the first floor and basement, the fire department said.

The exact cause of the fire is undetermined but appears to have started on the first floor, the fire department said.

A tenant from the building smelled smoke on Monday and alerted others while another tenant called 911, the fire department said.

Everyone was able to leave the building and no injuries were reported.
