Rash Of Car Break-Ins, Thefts Reported In Wauwatosa

WAUWATOSA, WI—The Wauwatosa Police Department responded to a number of calls for car thefts and break-ins from Dec. 24 to Dec. 28, according to the police log.

Patch reached out to both Mayfair Mall and Wauwatosa police for more information on Tuesday.

A 2017 Kia Sportage was stolen on Dec. 24 from Pick N Save, 1717 N. Mayfair Road.

A 2020 Kia Sorento was stolen on Dec. 24 from Pick N Save, 1717 N. Mayfair Road.

A person attempted to steal a 2020 Kia Soul on Dec. 24 from Nordstorm, 2424 N. Mayfair Road. The rear passenger side window was smashed, and the ignition was damaged.

A person attempted to steal a 2021 Hyundai Sonata on Dec. 24 from the Renissance, 2300 N. Mayfair Road. The car's rear passenger window was smashed, and the ignition/steering column was damaged.

Surveillance captured a silver Mercedes or BMW and red Hyundai or SUV stop behind the car. Two suspects approached the car. Both suspects return to silver car and exit lot. The video didn't capture identifying descriptions of suspects or suspect cars.

Two people stole a blue Kia Forte on Dec. 24 from Russ Darrow Kia, 1901 N. Mayfair Road.

Two people attempted to steal a Kia Soul and a Kia Forte from Russ Darrow Kia, 1901 N. Mayfair Road on Dec. 25. Both cars had smashed windows.

A red 2009 Dodge Ram pick-up truck was stolen on Dec. 28 from Mayfair Mall, 2500 N. Mayfair Road. The log said $2,000 in cash and a set of residential keys were stolen. Suspect car is described as a dark blue Hyundai Sonata.

A person rummaged through a 2018 Jeep Renegade on Dec. 28 at Mayfair Mall, 2500 N. Mayfair Road. The front passenger window was broken, and the car was rummaged through. There is no video footage of the incident and no suspect information.

A 2017 Toyota Rav4 was broken into and rummaged through on Dec. 28 at the lot of the Container Store, 10400 W. North Ave. There is no video footage of the incident and no suspect information.

A 2016 Honda Accord was broken into and rummaged through on Dec. 28 at Mayfair Mall, 2500 N. Mayfair Road. There is no video footage of the incident and no suspect information.

A 2013 Honda Civic was broken into and rummaged through on Dec. 28 at Mayfair Mall, 2500 N. Mayfair Road. There is no video footage of the incident and no suspect information.

A 2017 Honda Civic was broken into and rummaged through on Dec. 28 at Mayfair Mall, 2500 N. Mayfair Road. The car was parked in the east parking lot. There is no video footage of the incident and no suspect information.
