The Ronald McDonald House In Wauwatosa Proposes Expansion
The addition will be two story above grade with a basement totaling approximately 33,150 square feet.
WAUWATOSA, WI— The Plan Commission will hold a public hearing on Dec. 7 and consider a proposed expansion of the Ronald McDonald House, 8948 Watertown Plank Road.
The Ronald McDonald House is a nonprofit family & children's charity dedicated to supporting families with sick children in their time of need.
According to city documents, the Ronald McDonald House decide in 2019 to move forward with an addition to the existing facility. The addition will be located on the north side of the existing building and be located approximately where the existing free-standing garage sits. The addition will be two story above grade with a basement totaling approximately 33,150 square feet.

It will include 14 guest rooms, a play area, great room, offices, community room, and basement storage. That parking lot will be slightly modified to accommodate the new entrance.
A new parking lot with 22 spaces will be provided and will be connected to the existing drive thru parking lot, the documents said.

There will also be a new driveway that connects to a new loading area accessible from the basement on the north side of the addition, which will include another 7 parking spaces. The current driveway entrance on Watertown Plank road will remain the same.
This addition will provide for the same operation, services and use that the current facility has.

McDonald house provides more than just a place to stay. We offer families therapeutic
programming, a comprehensive meal program, comfortable community spaces and so much more," the documents said.
