Sweetgreen Salad Restaurant Proposed For State Street In Wauwatosa

WAUWATOSA, WI — Another Sweetgreen location could be coming to the greater Milwaukee area.

The fast-casual restaurant, known for its rotating menu of seasonal salads and warm bowls, proposed opening a store at 7603 West State Street in Wauwatosa.

Some of the spot's recent menu items have included a fish taco bowl or a curry cauliflower bowl, plus salads like a kale caesar or a garden cobb, according to its website.

The spot aims to partner with small and mid-size farmers locally and regionally and use compost services that divert food scraps and waste from landfills, according to documents filed with the Wauwatosa Plan Commission.

The proposal went up for a public hearing on Monday where the plan commission recommended a conditional use permit for approval, online records indicated.

The proposal for Wauwatosa comes as Wisconsin's first Sweetgreen location is set to move in at The Corners of Brookfield.
