Tosa Dancer Brings Home the Bronze from National Championships
Meaghan Kenfield was off to Spain with Trinity Dancers no sooner than national competition was over.

Wauwatosa's own Meaghan Kenfield of the Trinity Academy of Irish Dance took the bronze medal at the North American Irish Dancing Championships, held July 2 through 6 in Nashville, TN.
Meaghan, 15, took third out of 113 competitors in her age group. She is the current regional champion and a world medal holder.
Upon her return home, Kenfield immediately left for the Festival of Cuidad Real in Spain, where the Trinity Irish Dancers are featured performers.
“Meaghan is not only a beautiful dancer, but is also a very hard worker," said Trinity teacher Laura McNamara. "While she was diligently training for the Nationals, she was also training to travel to Spain where she is representing the United States at an international dancing festival.

"I’m sure the people of Spain are going to love the Midwest flavor that Meaghan and the other dancers are bringing to their festival.”
Talent runs in the Kenfield family. Meaghan's younger sister Lilli, who turns 11 on Thursday, took 25th place out of 79 competitors in her category.

Achievements of other area dancers include:
- Lydia Fredrick of New Berlin took 14th place out of 137 competitors.
- Erin Johnston of Greendale took 15th place out of 69 competitors.
These dancers train at Trinity’s Milwaukee location.
Trinity’s solo program also was in the spotlight recently when Peter Dziak of Villa Park, IL, captured Trinity’s first solo gold medal at the World Irish Dancing Championships in Dublin, Ireland, in April.
From humble beginnings in church basements to sold-out performance tours across Europe, Asia and North America, the Trinity dancers have consistently redefined the genre and elevated everyone who has seen them by sharing their undying energy, innovation and passion for the art form. Trinity was the birthplace of “progressive Irish dance,” which opened the artistic pathways that led directly to commercial shows such as Riverdance.
The Trinity dancers have appeared in numerous feature films and on national television programs including The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, CBS This Morning, The Today Show, Good Morning America and The Martha Stewart Show, to name a few. Trinity has also won two Emmy Awards for appearances on PBS.
