2 Men Charged After Woman Shot 7 Times In Wauwatosa: Police

​Two men were charged after a shots fired incident on Nov. 14 near North 94th Street and West Congress Avenue.

WAUWATOSA, WI— Two men were charged after a shots fired incident on Nov. 14 near North 94th Street and West Congress Avenue, according to police.

Officers found a victim suffering from a total of seven gunshot wounds, after being shot at a close range with a 9mm handgun, according to a news release. This is the second time since October 2019 that the victim was the target of an attempted homicide; the first incident was in October 2019 in Milwaukee, the release said.

Bryan O. Smith was charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree intentional homicide and first-degree reckless injury, among other charges. Cory D. Smith was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession with intent to deliver THC, stalking resulting in bodily harm and several counts of bail jumping. The criminal complaint said Bryan O. Smith is Cory Smith's uncle.

Through the investigation, police executed two search warrants, resulting in the above arrests and the recovery of three firearms, including a high-capacity assault rifle, the release said.
