Victim 'Bumped' Into Knife In Reckless Homicide Case: Police
The accused faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted of reckless homicide, which allegedly happened by accident during a fight.
GLENDALE, WI — A Milwaukee woman is being charged for the death of a man after threatening him with a knife, according to a release from the district attorney's office. Shaniqua Alexander, 28, is facing a count of second degree reckless homicide of a man she was seeing.
On June 17, Alexander saw the victim, referred to in court documents as JFR, with another woman and called him to say she didn't want to see him anymore, the documents say. At the time, they were not supposed to make contact with each other.
When Alexander arrived back a the Motel 6, on North Port Washington Road in Glendale, where she was living at the time, the victim was there waiting for her.

They argued about him being there. At one point, Alexander pulled out a knife "because she thought that might make him take her seriously and 'go the f--- away,'" the documents say. They began to fight, Alexander told police, and the victim "bumped" into the knife.
She tried to stop the bleeding until police arrived, she said. Responding EMTs took him into the hallway where they were unable to revive him.

The knife had pierced his lung, causing his chest cavity to fill with blood.
If convicted, Alexander faces up to $100,000 in fines and 25 years in prison.
