Video: Rifle Recovered From Vehicle After Wauwatosa Police Chase

WAUWATOSA, WI — Wauwatosa police on Wednesday published a video showing the final moments of a chase on Mayfair Road where officers found a rifle in the suspect's vehicle.

Officers were doing traffic enforcement when they spotted a car without proper license plates so they tied to stop it but the car drove away, according to a statement police published on Facebook. Eventually, officers used a tire deflation device and the car became disabled, police said.

At that point, the car drove over a concrete median before the driver bailed and got into another nearby car that also fled, police said. It all led to a standoff at the driver's home until he was arrested, police said.

Police have not released the identity of the driver or any charges filed against him.

After the encounter officers found a short-barreled rifle and drugs inside the original vehicle that fled, police said.
