Weekend Justice Rally Was Peaceful, Wauwatosa Police Say
60 people lined the streets on Mayfair Road and West North Avenue on Saturday.
WAUWATOSA, WI— The Peoples Revolution joined with Tosa Moms Tackling Racism on Saturday for a justice rally on North Mayfair Road and West North Avenue.
According to the event's Facebook post, the rally was meant to "To stand in solidarity with Wauwatosa residents and the families impacted by racial violence in Wauwatosa. After the hatred exhibited in recent weeks, we want to demonstrate the power in standing up for justice."
Participants were asked to wear masks and follow coronavirus prevention policies.

Wauwatosa Police posted a summary of the event on social media.
"Law enforcement monitored the area as approximately 60 people lined the sidewalks. The rally was peaceful with no injuries or property damage.

We appreciate that the group mostly stayed on the sidewalk which allowed traffic to move through the area. The Wauwatosa Police Department continues to support the First Amendment right to peaceably assemble."
The previous weekend hundreds of President Donald Trump supporters lined the streets of Wauwatosa on Nov. 21 for a "MAGA Freedom Rally," many of whom were protesting the Nov. 3 election in response to the president's ongoing, baseless allegations of fraud.
The rally drew about 600 people to the intersection of North Mayfair Road and West North Avenue, according to Wauwatosa police.
There was very few people wearing masks and people were not socially distancing during the rally.
According to reports, members of the far-right group Proud Boys were in attendance, providing "security" at the rally, some of whom were confronted by counter-protesters. One arrest was made for disorderly conduct. Police said the crowd mostly stayed on the sidewalk and allowed traffic to move through the area.
