West's Trojan Players Set to Fly High with Production of 'Peter Pan'

'Pixies and Pirates' fundraiser party a week in advance of opening will give young children a taste of the stage magic to come.

The timeless tale of a boy who never wanted to grow up will come to life both on stage and off at in the musical "Peter Pan" and at a party for young "pixies and pirates."

The curtain will rise on the first of five presentations of the West High Trojan Players’ production April 27, continuing that weekend and the next.

The Trojan Players will present Piers Chater Robinson’s musical adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s original tale of “Peter Pan.” This adaptation is much more faithful to the original story than the commonly known "Mary Martin/Cathy Rigby" version.

The production will include flying effects designed and engineered by ZFX Flying Effects of Louisville, KY.

Children and adults will feel like lifting off their feet as they discover new facets of the classic story of the imagination of boys, the power of mothers and the struggles associated with growing up.

Families with young children can get a taste of the magic at a Pixies and Pirates party hosted by the West Trojan Players from 1 to 2:30 p.m. April 21.

Children 10 and younger will follow a treasure map and participate in an afternoon of themed songs, games and crafts; pirate or pixie fairy costumes are encouraged. The costumed cast of “Peter Pan” will meet and greet guests.

All children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets to the party are $10 children and $5 adults. All proceeds benefit the Wauwatosa West Trojan
Players theater department.

Reserving tickets for a “Peter Pan” performance at the Pixies and Pirates party will entitle children 10 and younger to free admission to a performance.
